During the Congress of all mediations (Angers 2025), at the initiative of the International Institute for Ecological Negotiation (INNE), Séverine Carrez, President of INNE, and Ismaël Rins, Ombudsman in Argentina and Secretary of the Federation of Ombudsmen of South America, Coordinator of the Call within INNE, launched the Angers Call.
A CALL FOR GLOBAL MOBILISATION FOR ETHICAL MEDIATION
The Angers Appeal is addressed to all those who, not without difficulty, work in the service of dialogue, the building of links and the resolution of conflicts, with a firm conviction: uniting for ethical mediation is a necessity. It is up to us to work together to strengthen the place of mediation, its legitimacy, facilitate its access and guarantee its framework. To this end, the time has come to unite our energies, sharing our views and experiences.
Our strength lies in our community and its diversity.
Faced with the difficulties observed and shared by mediators in many fields (environmental, organisational, social or economic mediation) in different countries, this call seeks to federate mediators around common principles: will, independence, autonomy, diversity.
Together, let us show that dialogue can be the key when everything seems closed.
Welcomed with emotion and enthusiasm by mediators from all over the world, this call is the starting point of an international collaboration aimed at guaranteeing ethical and universally recognised mediation practices and processes for mediators and mediators.
Closing the ‘Congress of all mediations’ under the sign of union, this call marks above all the beginning of a new collective dynamic that will become a reality at the next Congress in 2027 with the proclamation of the ‘Angers Principles’.
